Beggar's House Yields Rs 2.5 Lakh in Cash Amid Piles of Waste

In Srirangapatna, a shocking discovery was made at the residence of Savitri, a 60-year-old beggar. A stash of over Rs 2.5 lakh in cash was found among piles of waste inside her small house. The money, along with loose change and a US dollar, was discovered by residents who visited her after she fell ill. Savitri had been living alone in the house since her mother's recent passing, and had reportedly been begging around local temples for around 15 years.

The total amount of cash found is estimated to be around Rs 2.5 lakh, with some reports suggesting that it may have accumulated over the years through Savitri's earnings from begging. A US dollar and an old Rs 500 note were also found among the bundles of currency notes. Six more bags containing loose change are yet to be counted.

The discovery has left residents in Srirangapatna shocked, with many expressing surprise at the large amount of cash found in a beggar's house. The incident has raised questions about how Savitri and her mother were able to accumulate such a significant amount of money over the years.
