Bell Canada's $52.5 Billion AI Hub Expansion Project in Saskatchewan
The Government of Canada has welcomed Bell Canada's planned investment to expand its AI Fabric capacity in Saskatchewan, marking an important step towards building sovereign computing capacity in the country.
Bell's expansion project could provide up to 900 megawatts of new capacity, charting a path to a 1.2-gigawatt Canadian AI infrastructure hub in the province and creating 4,500 high-quality jobs.
The project involves a total capital investment of up to $52.5 billion, making it the largest capital investment in Saskatchewan's history.
Data centres and digital infrastructure are increasingly essential to Canada's economy and security, supporting AI, healthcare, financial services, education, research, and secure government systems.
