Bessent Vows to Isolate Iran at G20 Finance Meeting
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent arrived at the G20 finance meeting in Asheville, NC, with a smile on his face and a warning to Iran: 'come to their senses'.
Bessent was accompanied by Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh and later seen walking with JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon outside the G20 Finance Track reception. The treasury secretary has been previewing measures meant to isolate Iran from global markets, punishing countries and financial institutions still doing business with Tehran.
'The economy doesn't have to collapse,' Bessent said. 'We just have to have the regime come to their senses.' He added that this could happen within weeks or months.
