BetaShares Launches Global Bond ETF with Currency Hedge
The BetaShares Global Aggregate Bond Currency Hedged ETF (WBND) provides Australian investors with access to a globally diversified portfolio of investment-grade bonds, eliminating currency risk through hedging.
WBND tracks the Bloomberg Global Aggregate Total Return Index Hedged AUD via a fund-of-fund structure, investing in the Amundi GAGG ETF. This allows for broad global bond exposure efficiently, while BetaShares applies the AUD currency hedge at the fund level.
The underlying index covers bonds from 27 global currency markets, with the US being the dominant geographic allocation at 39.92% of the index. The management fee is 0.19% p.a., making it competitive for a globally diversified, currency-hedged fixed income product.
