Billionaires Building Underground Bunkers in Swiss Alps
The Brünig Mega Safe project in Switzerland is building underground bunkers for billionaires to store their assets, including artwork, cars, and fine wine. The bunkers are being carved out of limestone, over 100 meters deep, with a natural temperature of 13C, ideal for storing sensitive items.
The prices start at £455,000, and the company claims that its vaults will be comparable to those of the Swiss National Bank. Thomas Gasser, chairman of Brünig Mega Safe, said that people want to safeguard part of their wealth due to rising global instability.
The bunkers are being built with various amenities, including a firing range, gastro pub, explosives depot, and training facility for firefighters. The company is already in talks with about a dozen potential buyers, but the identity of these clients remains undisclosed.
