Bitcoin Faces Long-Term Interest Rate Test Ahead of Jackson Hole Meeting
Bitcoin is set for a new test as it faces a potential downturn in long-term interest rates and liquidity ahead of the Jackson Hole meeting hosted by the Kansas City Fed.
The event will conclude on Friday morning with a speech from Fed Chair Kevin Warsh, but investors are already looking to the data that could influence the Bitcoin price.
The PCE indicator, which the Fed uses to track inflation, rose to 3.7% in July, remaining well above the central bank's 2% target.
Mark Connors, Risk Dimensions Investment Director, stated that instead of providing direct guidance for an interest rate decision, Warsh might focus on planned changes in the Fed's operating and communication methods.
Samir Kerbage, Chief Investment Officer at Hashdex, said that Bitcoin does not react to the September interest rate decision alone; the real impact comes from global liquidity and long-term bond yields.
