Bitcoin Slides Below $79,000 as Inflation Data Loom
Bitcoin's price continues to decline, dropping below $78,900 as of Tuesday. This marks a 1.53% loss in the previous session. Analysts remain cautious, citing potential implications from US inflation data due on Friday.
QCP Capital notes that while the outlook for Bitcoin remains positive, it has yet to reach a decisive stage. The company suggests that the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) data will be a crucial factor in determining the direction of cryptocurrency markets.
A QCP Capital analyst emphasized that the recent strong US jobs report does not necessarily determine the Federal Reserve's policy path, but instead shifts focus towards inflation. If the CPI data confirm easing inflation towards the central bank's 2% target, it could strengthen the case for leaving interest rates unchanged.
However, renewed price pressures could reinforce the case for further monetary tightening, which would likely weigh on Bitcoin's price.
