Bitcoin Slips Below $80K as Yen Strength Continues
Bitcoin's attempt to reclaim $80,000 was short-lived as it struggled below that mark on Wednesday. The cryptocurrency's price action mirrored broader market trends, with US-Iran strikes pushing Brent crude oil above $100 per barrel.
The Japanese yen continued its ascent, trading around 153 per dollar for the first time since February. This strength was fueled by repeated joint interventions in foreign exchange markets between Japan and the US.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent hinted at further interventions to come, saying he has 'pretty good insight into what the Bank of Japan is going to do'.
