BLUE LOCK Live-Action Film Breaks 1 Billion Yen Box Office Barrier
The BLUE LOCK live-action film has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 1 billion yen in cumulative gross at the Japan Box Office. This achievement comes just 19 days after the film's premiere on August 7, 2026, across 347 theaters, where it debuted in eighth place.
The film, directed by Yusuke Taki and based on the manga created by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura, has become the fourth live-action adaptation to cross the 1 billion yen mark this year. It joins Kingdom: Tamashii no Kessen, Sakamoto Days, and Golden Kamuy: Abashiri Prison Arc in this exclusive club.
The production team has worked to maintain momentum by offering screenings in specialized formats, including MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema, starting August 21. The film's soundtrack also features the theme song Monstruo and the insert song Kira performed by Ado, as well as Fukase of SEKAI NO OWARI contributing the insert song twilight.
