BMO Discloses $303 Billion Portfolio Includes XRP Holdings
Bank of Montreal, Canada's second-largest bank, has revealed its holdings in XRP-focused financial vehicles. The information appears in its latest quarterly Form 13F-HR filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The bank's reportable positions include 323 shares of the Rex Osprey XRP ETF and 20 shares of the ProShares Ultra XRP ETF.
The total value of BMO's investment portfolio exceeded $303 billion at the end of June 2026. This disclosure marks another milestone in Canada's banking sector, which is increasingly adopting a selective approach to entering the cryptocurrency market through transparent funds.
This trend was also seen earlier when National Bank of Canada disclosed holdings in the Bitwise XRP ETF worth approximately $330,000. Major first-wave players such as Goldman Sachs had reduced or fully exited their positions by summer 2026, locking in profits.
However, they were replaced by midsize asset managers and family offices, including Arax Advisory Partners, Gerber, Vista Finance, and Gallacher Capital. These new investors are taking a more flexible approach, splitting capital between traditional spot funds and short-term leveraged instruments.
