Canadian banks are increasingly showing interest in cryptocurrency exposure through regulated funds.

Bank of Montreal (BMO) has disclosed its XRP holdings in a recent 13F filing, revealing it held 323 shares of the Rex Osprey XRP ETF and 20 shares of the ProShares Ultra XRP ETF as of June 30, 2026. The positions form part of BMO's investment portfolio, valued at over $303 billion.

This marks a shift in XRP fund ownership from larger early investors towards midsize asset managers and family offices, according to recent 13F filings. National Bank of Canada also reported XRP exposure through 3,848 shares of the Bitwise XRP ETF.
