BOE Holds Interest Rates Amid Oil Price Surge

The Bank of England is expected to hold interest rates at 3.75% when it meets on Thursday, despite rising oil prices that threaten to reignite inflation across major economies.

Brent crude has surged above $100 per barrel for the first time since May, pushing energy costs higher and potentially boosting UK inflation from its current level of 2.6%, a 15-month low.

Economists warn that this respite may be short-lived, as the recent oil price spike threatens to push inflation even higher, with some forecasting it could exceed 3.5%.

The Bank's decision comes amid renewed tensions in the Middle East and a delicate balancing act for central banks on both sides of the Atlantic.
