BOE Holds Rates at 3.75%, Three Members Vote for Hike

The Bank of England (BOE) held its interest rate at 3.75% for a fifth consecutive time, despite a 6-3 vote with three members voting to hike rates.

The GBP/USD currency pair traded near 1.3378 after the decision, up 0.49% on the month and 1.00% over twelve months.

BOE Governor Andrew Bailey explicitly told reporters not to conclude that the Bank is edging towards a hike, despite the widening dissent from hawks seeking higher rates.
