BoE Holds Rates Steady Amid Middle East Conflict
The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has decided to hold interest rates at 3.75%, in line with market expectations.
This marks the fifth consecutive time the BoE has chosen not to adjust rates this year, despite a recent slowdown in inflation and whipsawing oil prices.
Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey noted that inflation has fallen faster than anticipated but remains volatile due to ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Several analysts expressed surprise at the decision, citing concerns about the BoE's cautious approach amidst global uncertainty.
