BOJ Faces Pressure to Raise Rates as Japan's Inflation Surges
The Japanese yen has remained stable around 159 against the US dollar on Friday after data showed that Japan's core consumer inflation accelerated in July.
According to government data, core consumer prices rose 1.8% in July from a year earlier, up from 1.6% in June.
This increase is expected to influence the Bank of Japan's (BOJ) decision on interest rates at its September meeting.
