Bank of Japan (BOJ) Governor Kazuo Ueda will not attend the Federal Reserve's annual gathering in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, due to scheduling conflicts. Instead, BOJ board member Naoki Tamura will represent him at the conclave.

Tamura is seen as a hawk on the nine-member board and has publicly called for raising interest rates once every few months to counter upside risks to prices.

The absence of Ueda at Jackson Hole puts the spotlight on his possible appearance at next week's G20 finance leaders' gathering in Asheville, North Carolina.
