The Bank of Japan (BOJ) has decided to leave its benchmark interest rate unchanged at around 1 percent. This decision was made after a two-day policy meeting on Friday.

The BOJ raised the rate in June by a quarter of a percentage point to the current level, and is still assessing the effect of that decision on businesses and households.

According to Governor Ueda Kazuo, the BOJ will continue to raise its interest rate and adjust monetary easing in line with the economic, price, and financial situations. The bank will examine various factors, including the impact of exchange rate fluctuations, before making any further adjustments.
