BOJ Leaves Hike Timing in Doubt After Rate Policy Decision
The Bank of Japan (BOJ) has maintained its rate policy unchanged and adjusted its economic growth forecast upwards. Hiromi Ishihara, Head of equity investment at Amundi Japan, told Bloomberg that investors are now waiting for a clear indication from the BOJ on when it will hike interest rates.
The BOJ's decision to keep its rate policy steady has caused some market volatility, particularly with regards to the yen. However, officials stopped short of confirming a recent intervention that led to a significant strengthening of the currency.
