Bowman: Fed Policy on Track for 2% Inflation Target
Michelle Bowman, Vice Chair for Supervision at the United States Federal Reserve, expressed confidence in the central bank's policy framework during her speech at the 2026 CEO & Senior Management Summit and Annual Meeting Speakers. According to Bowman, the Fed's policy is 'well positioned' to return inflation to its target rate of 2%.
Bowman emphasized that community banks need to offer services related to stablecoins, as their customers are requesting them. She also reiterated the Fed's responsibility in supervising smaller banks to ensure they remain 'safe and sound'. This message comes amidst ongoing discussions about the role of central banks in regulating the financial sector.
