Bulgaria Ends Mandatory Dual Price Indication in Levs and Euros
The Bulgarian government has ended the one-year period for mandatory dual indication of prices in levs and euros. This measure, which was introduced to help consumers adjust to the new currency, is no longer required as of August 8.
Although traders can continue to display lev equivalent prices, they must do so only for informational purposes. The price in euros is now the only selling and payable price, while the lev value remains a reference point.
Prices in both currencies must be clearly displayed, with a clear indication that currency conversion is done at the official fixed rate. This applies to all printed materials, including menus, catalogues, price lists, brochures, and more.
