Bunds Yields Fall Amid Energy Costs, Political Uncertainty
The yields on German government bonds, also known as Bunds, have declined following a 15-year high reached on Tuesday. This decrease is attributed to investors' analysis of various challenges, including rising energy costs and political instability in Germany.
In addition to these domestic concerns, market fluctuations in Japan and the upcoming European Central Bank (ECB) meeting this week are also influencing investor sentiment.
The 10-year bond yield for Germany, which serves as a benchmark for the euro zone, fell by 2.5 basis points to 3.36%. This decrease comes after the yield reached its highest rate since April 2011 at 3.3982%.
The 2-year yields, sensitive to interest rates, dropped by 1.5 basis points to 2.98%, nearing a two-year high.
