CAC 40 Slips as Global Rate Concerns Weigh on Paris Stocks

The Paris CAC 40 index slipped 0.6% on Wednesday, July 29, due to a cautious global mood ahead of the US Federal Reserve's interest rate decision and the ongoing rout in semiconductor-linked shares.

French equities were dragged down by these factors, with the CAC 40 finishing at 8,408.27 points, a decline of 50.51 points from Tuesday's close of 8,458.78.

The session got off to a choppy start, but sellers took control through the mid-morning hours, leading to a session low of 8,379.78 in early afternoon trading.

The losses were broad-based and not concentrated in any single sector, reflecting the macro-driven nature of the selloff rather than company-specific news flow.
