The Canadian dollar strengthened on Monday, driven by recent inflation data.

According to Statistics Canada, the country's consumer price index increased 3.0% annually in July, up from 2.8% the previous month.

This increase was largely due to volatile gasoline prices, with inflation rising only 2.2% when excluding fuel.

The Canadian dollar settled at US$1=C$1.3865, a slight improvement from Friday's close of US$1=C$1.3875.
