Canadian Prime Minister Justin Carney is co-organizing an investment event in Toronto to attract $1 trillion in investments over five years. The summit will feature projects from across Canada, including Saskatchewan's uranium exports which have seen a 178% increase in the past five years.

The energy sector stands out globally as Canada's most attractive realm for investment, but it also comes with sharp risks, according to the CPP Investment Board's Insights report. Mahmood Nanji, a fellow at the Ivey School of Business, said Canada has suffered from a well-documented dearth of business investment in the past decade.

Critics often blame regulatory burdens and long timelines for project approvals as the reason for this shortfall. However, Carney's office says they have taken steps to address these issues with measures such as the major projects office and One Canadian Economy Act.
