Canada Business Watch: WestJet Vote and Bank Earnings

A weeklong contract ratification vote by WestJet flight attendants is set to conclude on Monday. The tentative agreement reached after a one-day strike includes an over 18 per cent wage increase over three years and a new duty period premium for work done on the ground.

Canada's big banks will report their third-quarter results this week, with BMO Financial Group and Scotiabank leading the way on Tuesday. National Bank follows on Wednesday, while CIBC, Royal Bank of Canada, and Toronto-Dominion Bank report their results on Thursday.

EQB Inc., which recently acquired PC Financial business, will release its third-quarter results after the close of markets on Wednesday, followed by a conference call with financial analysts on Thursday morning.
