Canada Carriers Air Canada, Air Transat Launch Five New Transatlantic Routes This Winter
Canadian carriers Air Canada and Air Transat are expanding their transatlantic routes this winter. In total, five new routes will be launched between Canada and Europe. Two of these new routes will be operated by Air Canada to Tenerife South Reina Sofía Airport (TFS) in Spain's Canary Islands.
Air Canada will fly from Montréal Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Tenerife with its Airbus A321XLR. The flights from Montréal will operate weekly on Saturdays from October 31 to April 24, 2027. The Toronto-Tenerife route will run for slightly longer, with two flights a week on Thursdays and Sundays from October 25 to April 29, 2027.
Air Transat is also set to launch new routes from Montréal and Toronto to Gran Canaria using the Airbus A321LR. These twinjets are more densely configured than Air Canada's A321XLRs, with 12 business and 187 economy seats. On both of its new routes to Gran Canaria, passengers can expect weekly flights from mid-December to early April.
Air Transat will also operate a new corridor from Montréal to Istanbul Airport (IST) in Turkey, commencing on October 29 with twice-weekly flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
