Canada Global Media Tech Fund Seeks to Foster International Collaboration
The Canada Global Media Tech Fund aims to establish Canada as a strategic gateway between North America and high-growth markets, such as the Gulf Cooperation Council and Asia-Pacific. The fund would be a public-private investment fund that supports building globally competitive Canadian media and technology companies.
Interlink Group, along with a consortium of organizations including the Vancouver Asian Film Festival, Racial Equity Screen Office, and Muslims in Media, have signed an Expression of Interest to explore the creation of this fund. The Canada Media Fund will also be involved in the development of the fund.
The fund would provide new pathways for investment, co-production, technology development, content creation, and international distribution across various sectors, including film, television, digital media, gaming, creator economy ventures, artificial intelligence, virtual production, and emerging content technologies.
