Canada Interest Rate Decision Looms as Inflation Rises
The Bank of Canada will make its interest rate decision on Wednesday, and economists expect it to keep the policy interest rate at 2.25 per cent.
This decision comes after Statistics Canada reported a rise in inflation from 2.8 per cent in June to three per cent in July.
Statistics Canada will also release its figures for international merchandise trade in July on Thursday and its labour force survey for August on Friday.
BRP Inc., the maker of recreational vehicles, will publish its second-quarter financial results before markets open on Thursday. The company has been affected by tariffs this year as most of its products are made in Canada and Mexico but sold mainly in the US.
