Canada Jobs Boom: 75K New Positions Created as Unemployment Rate Hits Two-Year Low
The Canadian economy rebounded strongly in August as it added 75,000 jobs, bringing the unemployment rate down to a two-year low of 6.4 per cent.
Most of these new jobs were created in Ontario and British Columbia, where the economies have been showing signs of improvement.
The news is a welcome respite from the slow start to the year, which saw the Canadian economy grow at just 0.3 per cent in May.
