The North Coast Transmission Line project in British Columbia, Canada has officially kicked off on September 3. The goal is to create a robust electrical backbone for northern BC, supporting mining, liquefied natural gas, industrial processing, and local communities.

During the construction phases, up to 1,400 workers are expected to be involved. Once completed, the new infrastructure will enable around 9,700 direct jobs in various industries. The provincial economy is projected to benefit by nearly C$10 billion annually, with an estimated C$950 million per year in revenues for local and provincial governments.

The project involves constructing roads, bridges, corridors, and access points before building towers, substations, and cables. This infrastructure will provide a stable electricity supply to new consumers, alleviate current capacity constraints, and create space for additional loads.
