Canada Posts Strongest Economic Growth in Over Three Years
Canada's economy has shown significant growth in the second quarter of 2026, with real gross domestic product increasing at an annualized rate of 3.3 percent.
This is the strongest pace of growth in over three years and helps to ease concerns about a prolonged economic downturn.
The surge in exports, which grew due to a recovery in auto production after six months of slowdown, was a major contributor to this growth.
Businesses also increased their investment spending, with capital investment rising 2.3 percent during the quarter.
