Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to welcome hundreds of global and domestic investors to Toronto for Canada's first-ever national investment summit on September 14 and 15. The event aims to address the country's persistent lack of business investment, which has been a major drag on the economy.

The summit will feature cabinet members, premiers, and Canadian business leaders showcasing major projects across the country. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith plans to pitch 34 proposed projects, while Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe will highlight his province's energy, critical mineral, defense, and agriculture sectors.

Carney has reoriented federal policy and Ottawa's budget framework to funnel spending towards critical infrastructure and major projects since taking office in March 2025. He aims to 'catalyze' $1 trillion in investments in Canada over five years.
