Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced the appointments of Dominic Barton as Chair of the Board and Gurinder Grewal as Chief Executive Officer of Invest in Canada, a key player in the country's mission to catalyze $1 trillion in total investment over five years.

The appointments are part of the government's efforts to build a stronger, more resilient economy that is not reliant on any single trading partner. Barton brings extensive experience in global business, investment, and public service, having spent 30 years at McKinsey & Company, including nine years as Global Managing Partner.

Grewal has a career of putting capital to work in various sectors, including energy, industrials, infrastructure, and technology. Together, they will lead Invest in Canada to attract major investments from around the world and guide them through the development process.

Canada's new government is building on its momentum in foreign direct investment, which has reached its highest level in two decades, running at twice the rate of its nearest G7 competitor.
