Canada Trains Ukrainian Pilots for Gripen and F-16 Fighter Jets
Ukrainian military pilots are undergoing training in Canada to eventually fly fighter jets, including the Gripen and F-16. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, this training is part of a program to strengthen Ukraine's combat aviation.
The president thanked Canada for providing up to 389 million Canadian dollars for the training between 2024 and 2029. The program includes not only pilots but also specialists in maintenance and operation of aviation equipment, which is necessary for the future operation of the aircraft.
Canada provides access to simulators and other training resources, allowing Ukrainian military personnel to practice flight and tactical scenarios without using actual aircraft. This includes the use of F-16 simulators to practice flight and tactical scenarios.
