The Bank of Canada has unveiled its new $20 bill, featuring King Charles on the front and the National Vimy Ridge Memorial in France on the back. This is the first time a new monarch appears on the $20 bill in over 70 years.

Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem called the note 'striking, symbolic and secure', praising its advanced security features that make it harder to counterfeit.

The bank note has several unique features, including a purple security stripe with elements that spin, transform and pulse when moved. This is designed to help Canadians easily authenticate the $20 bill, which is the denomination they use most often.

The new $20 bill will gradually enter circulation in late February next year.
