The Bank of Canada has introduced a new Canadian $20 bill featuring King Charles III. The vertical note, which will enter circulation in late February 2027, is part of the Vertical series.

The design includes a flower and leaf tapestry inspired by the King's love for the environment, as well as provincial and territorial floral emblems representing Canada's 13 provinces and territories on the front. The back of the note retains the Canadian National Vimy Memorial in France as a tribute to Canada's contributions and sacrifices in military conflicts throughout its history.

The new $20 bill has advanced security features, including a purple security stripe with elements that spin, transform, and pulse when the note is moved. This will help the Bank maintain its technical advantage over counterfeiters and enable Canadians to easily authenticate $20 bank notes.
