Canada Unveils New $20 Bill Featuring King Charles III

The Bank of Canada unveiled a new $20 bill featuring King Charles III on Thursday in Ottawa. The redesigned bank note is part of the central bank's vertical series and features distinctive symbols of Canadian identity.

According to Governor General Louise Arbour, the currency 'affirms our sovereignty and our determination to define ourselves in the eyes of the world on our own terms.'

The new bill has several security features, including a purple stripe that makes images pulse when tilted. The portrait of King Charles is surrounded by a floral tapestry inspired by his dedication to the environment.

Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem said the new note is 'both visually stunning and more secure than ever.'
