This August, Canada is implementing numerous new laws and regulations that will impact various sectors of the country's economy. One significant change is the increased funding for student grants, which will see a maximum grant amount of $4,200 for full-time students and up to $2,520 per year for part-time students.

The federal government has also introduced new rules limiting access to federal student aid for students attending private, for-profit schools. Students at these institutions will no longer be eligible for the Canada Student Grant for Full-Time Students, except in specific cases such as nursing and paramedical programs.

Additionally, a new foreign influence transparency registry is being launched on August 4, which requires individuals and organizations to register any arrangements that meet certain conditions. Failure to comply can result in administrative monetary penalties ranging from $250 to $1 million.
