Canada's Critical Mineral Bonanza
Canada has a unique opportunity to capitalize on its rich reserves of six critical minerals that are essential for the global transition to clean energy, according to Rachel Doran, president and executive director of Clean Energy Canada.
The six minerals in question, lithium, cobalt, nickel, rare earth elements, chromium, and manganese, are crucial components in electric vehicle batteries, renewable energy systems, and other clean technologies.
Doran notes that the collapse of Canada-U.S. trade talks last Friday highlights the need for Canada to diversify its economy and capitalize on its natural resources, which could provide a significant economic boost.
