Canada's Economy Booms with 3.3% Growth in Q2
According to Statistics Canada, the country's economy experienced its fastest growth in over three years during the second quarter of 2026. The agency reported that real gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 3.3% on an annualized basis.
This increase was largely driven by a surge in exports, which were bolstered by a rebound in auto production after it had faltered for six months prior to the second quarter.
Business capital investment also played a significant role in this growth, increasing by 2.3% during the same period and ending a five-quarter streak of decline.
