Canada's economy continued its steady growth in May, expanding by 0.3% according to Statistics Canada. This marks a slight increase from April's 0.2% gain and suggests that the country's economic growth is maintaining a moderate pace.

The services-producing sector was the primary driver of this growth, with notable gains in public administration, finance and insurance, and real estate. Meanwhile, goods-producing industries like manufacturing and construction also contributed to the increase, although to a lesser extent.

However, the mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction sector contracted, partially offsetting the overall growth. This mixed performance highlights the uneven nature of Canada's economic recovery.
