Canada's economy has recorded its second consecutive month of growth, increasing by 0.3% in May, according to Statistics Canada.

The agency surpassed its initial estimate of 0.1% growth for the month and attributed the increase to 13 out of 20 industrial sectors, including construction, manufacturing, finance, and insurance.

The mining, quarrying, oil, and gas extraction sector led growth with a 1% rise in May, thanks to early completion or deferral of maintenance work that usually occurs during this time.

Transportation and warehousing also contributed to the gains, as pipelines pushed more natural gas onto the market.
