Canada's Economy Shows Signs of Rebound
Canada's economy showed signs of improvement in May, growing by 0.3 per cent as the rebound from first quarter weakness continued.
The growth was mainly driven by the mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction sectors, which grew by one per cent month-over-month in May, according to Statistics Canada.
These sectors led economic growth for the second consecutive month, while manufacturing also saw a slight increase of 0.3 per cent, driven by non-durable goods manufacturing industries.
Construction activity also expanded, growing by 0.8 per cent in May, marking the second consecutive month of growth in this sector.
