Canada's Economy Shrinks by 42,000 Jobs in August
The Canadian economy suffered broad-based declines in August, shedding 42,000 jobs. However, the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 6.4 per cent.
The decline in employment was widespread across various industries, including the public sector, natural resources, utilities and business, building and other support services.
The manufacturing sector was an exception, adding around 22,000 jobs or a 1.2 per cent increase month to month.
