Canada's economy has rebounded from its recessionary slump, with new data showing a significant boost in job creation. In July, Canada added a surprisingly strong 75,000 jobs, bringing the unemployment rate down to 6.4 percent, its lowest level in two years.

This marks a stark contrast to the United States, where the economy lost 23,000 jobs in July, with the job gains reported for April and May revised downward. The US unemployment rate fell slightly to 4.1 percent, but this was largely due to hundreds of thousands of Americans leaving the workforce.

President Donald Trump's criticism of Canada's economy took a hit as well, after he praised his own tariffs in a speech in Las Vegas, calling Canada 'nasty' and saying its leadership is 'nasty.'
