The Canadian employment report for July is expected to show another positive month, according to Continuum Economics. The firm predicts an increase of 20,000 jobs in July, a third consecutive gain, but slightly lower than June's 18.2k.

However, the economy's growth momentum may be threatened by fresh US tariffs. In June, employment details were mixed, with goods showing weakness and services exhibiting strength.

In July, Continuum Economics expects goods to decline by 5,000 jobs, while services are expected to rise by 35,000 jobs, with a slight bounce in the public sector.
