Statistics Canada is set to release its labour force survey for August today, providing an update on the country's job market.

A Reuters poll of economists predicts that employers added 15,000 jobs in August, while maintaining a steady unemployment rate of 6.4 per cent, according to LSEG Data & Analytics.

This comes after Canada saw a strong increase in employment numbers in July, with the addition of 75,000 jobs.

The Canadian economy has been facing uncertainty due to an escalating trade war with the United States, following talks breakdown last month and President Donald Trump's imposition of fresh tariffs on some $28 billion of Canadian goods.
