Canada's Military-Industrial Complex Called into Question

A letter to the editor in The Globe and Mail questioned the effectiveness of manufacturing military weaponry as a means of growing Canada's economy and maintaining sovereignty.

Catharina Summers from Kingston, Ontario, wrote that the only threat to Canada's sovereignty has come from the United States through economic force. She suggested that there must be more effective ways to grow the economy and maintain sovereignty than by manufacturing military weaponry.
