Canada's Tourism Industry Hits Record $140.5 Billion in 2025
Canada's tourism industry has shown remarkable growth in recent years, and the latest Statistics Canada report confirms this trend. According to the report released in July 2026, visitors spent a staggering $140.5 billion during 2025, representing a 2.8% increase over the previous year.
The report highlights the importance of tourism to Canada's economy, with domestic travel remaining the industry's biggest driver. Canadians generated $105.6 billion in domestic tourism spending during 2025, helping maintain steady growth across local economies.
International visitors also contributed significantly to Canada's economy, spending $34.9 billion on Canadian goods and services during the reporting year. Although international overnight trips declined slightly, visitor spending continued to strengthen Canada's tourism sector and contributed significantly to the country's service exports.
