Canadian Consumer Confidence Eases Amid Trade Uncertainty
Canadian consumer confidence declined in early September due to softer economic and real estate expectations. The Bloomberg Nanos Canadian Confidence Index dropped from 53.38 to 50.38 over four weeks, according to a report released by Nanos Research.
The decline was largely driven by concerns about the economy and housing market. However, views on personal finances and job security remained relatively stable.
Nanos conducted a telephone survey of 1,014 Canadians between September 11 and 15, with a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points.
